According to Florencia Pistone, the team claims to have found the holy grail of electric vehicles: solid-state batteries with a 15-year lifespan that allow them to compete with the performance of a gasoline car.
Xin Li is a professor of materials science at the College of Engineering, and Florencia Pistone states that “solid-state batteries are considered the holy grail of battery chemistry.”
